Pressure Vessel Safety Accessories
1. Safety Valve
The safety valve automatically opens when the pressure inside the equipment exceeds the specified limit, releasing excess pressure to restore the equipment to normal operating pressure. After the pressure normalizes, the safety valve closes automatically.
After calibration, it is strictly prohibited to arbitrarily increase the set pressure or disable the safety valve by adding weights, shifting the hammer, or jamming the valve disc.
2. Pressure Gauge
The pressure gauge range should align with the equipment's operating pressure, typically 1.5–3 times the operating pressure (optimally 2 times). A red line must be marked on the gauge dial to indicate the maximum allowable working pressure. The gauge connection pipe shall be free of water/steam leaks, as leakage would compromise the accuracy of pressure readings.
3. Bursting Disc
A bursting disc device consists of a bursting disc and corresponding holder. Bursting discs are generally classified into shear-type, buckling-type, forward-arch conventional tensile-type, forward-arch slotted-type, reverse-arch-type, etc.
4. Temperature Measuring Instrument
Pressure vessels requiring wall temperature control shall be equipped with temperature measuring instruments (or thermometers) for wall temperature monitoring.
5. Level Gauge
Level gauges for pressure vessels shall be selected based on the medium, maximum allowable working pressure, and temperature of the pressure vessel.
6. Pressure Reducing Valve
When the pressure vessel's operating pressure is lower than the pressure source, a pressure reducing valve shall be installed on the pipeline leading to the vessel inlet. If the pressure reducing valve cannot ensure reliable operation due to medium conditions, a control valve may be used as a substitute.
7. Emergency Shutoff Device
This device enables emergency valve closure to rapidly shut off the gas supply in the event of pipeline/accessory rupture, misoperation, or fire incidents near tankers, thereby preventing accident escalation.
8. Safety Interlock Device for Quick-Opening Pressure Vessels
The quick-opening safety interlock alarm device is an effective safeguard against operational accidents in quick-opening pressure vessels. Its functions include:
Interlock control: Pressurization is permitted only when the quick-opening door reaches the designated closed position.
Interlock release: The quick-opening door may be opened only after the internal pressure is fully released and the safety interlock disengages.
Alarm synchronization: Simultaneous activation of an alarm during the aforementioned operations.
